The kitchen measuring cup or measuring jug from Riess is an indispensable tool for measuring out cooking and baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, milk, water, and other cold or hot liquids. Inside the measuring cup are two scales that show liters in centiliters and, depending on the size of the measuring cup, also in 1/4 or 1/8 liters – this corresponds to the traditional Austrian unit of measurement for liquids.
The measuring cup is equipped with a convenient side handle and a spout, called a beak, which makes it easier to pour liquids. The enamel measuring cup is also ideal for heating precisely measured liquids such as milk or water for yeast dough or soup for risotto. However, it should be cooked over a low heat as the diameter of the base is very small. When heating milk, it is advisable to add a little water to prevent burning
